Rogerio Taborda

Rogerio is the head BJJ instructor for all of the Tatu BJJ academies throughout the east coast of the United States. He studied in Brazil under Prof. Paulo Guimaraes and Master Jorge Pereira.

Julio Cesar Pereira

Mestre Julio Cesar Pereira is a highly regarded BJJ instructor and a 6 grau black belt (6th dan), a former main men at the famous Gama Filho Jiu Jitsu academy and a founder of the GFTeam (Grapple Fight Team) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Today he is still seen as one of the main figures of Jiu Jitsu in Rio.

Robson Moura

Robson Moura, also known as “Robinho”, is one of the greatest competitors in jiu jitsu’s super featherweight division, a weight class he dominated for years achieving 6 world titles in his career. After retiring (unofficially) from his competitive career, Robson Moura dedicated his full attention to his career as a grappling coach in the United States where he developed his own association RMNU (Robson Moura – Nova Uniao).

Rafael Mendes

Rafael Mendes is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt world champion under the illustrious coach Ramon Lemos. Considered a BJJ phenom since his late teens, and acclaimed as “the king of the featherweight division” by many BJJ enthusiasts, Rafael was also one of the fighters that brought recognition to 50-50 Guard, a game he used to de-throne the former 5x world champion Rubens Charles. Rafael Mendes is also the brother of another Jiu Jitsu World Champion, Guilherme Mendes.

Rubens Charles “Cobrinha”

Rubens Charles, also known as “Cobrinha” – Little Snake – is a 5 time World Jiu Jitsu Champion with the longuest reign in the featherweigh division’s history. This Brazilian competitor from the town of Londrina, is famed for his agressive game inside the matted arena, but he is also an acomplished instructor as he has shown teaching at Team Alliance’s HQ in Atlanta.

André Galvão

Andre Galvao is one of the most accomplished jiu jitsu competitors in the history of the sport, having won important tournaments such as the ADCC, the world championship, the Pan American championship, world cup, world pro championship among many other tournaments. Galvao also had a short spell competing in MMA.

Sergio Moraes

A member of the reality show, The Ultimate Fighter – Brazil (2012),Sergio Moraes is an accomplished MMA fighter and BJJ black belt with 4 world jiu jitsu titles to his name. He was revealed to jiu jitsu’s main stream at the 2008 World Championships after his submission victory over fan favourite Kron Gracie, he would later win that same tournament. Serginho Moraes has since then cemented his name as one of the great Jiu Jitsu fighters of his generation with several other important titles in the Jiu Jitsu competitive circuit.

Demian is one of the top MMA fighters in the UFC today. He is also an incredible Jiu Jitsu fighter, a World Cup Champion and a Black belt from one of the best instructors in the business. This article explains his background and his path in the competitive world of martial arts.

Ricardo Arona

Ricardo Arona is a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt from Ricardo Libório and Carlson Gracie lineage, Arona is also a submission wrestling legend, having won the ADCC (the world’s most prestigious grappling tournament) on 3 occasions, he has also led a successful MMA career (Mixed Martial Arts fighter) having fought some the biggest names of the sport in his time, fighters such as Fedor Emilianenko, Wanderlei Silva, Mauricio “Shogun”, Murilo “Ninja”, amongst many others in the now extinct Pride FC promotion.
