Otavio ‘Peixotinho’

Otavio “Peixotinho” is one of the best students of Carlson Gracie in the 1980’s decade and is today one of the most respected jiu jitsu masters in Brazil. Famed for his spectacular fight against two legends, Royler and Rickson Gracie, “Peixotinho” became a synonym of toughness and skill and together with a small group of people; he defined BJJ in the 1980’s. Otavio is also the brother of another prolific Carlson Gracie black belt, Mr Marco Aurélio Kühner.

Tiago Alves

Tiago Alves is one of the most famous BJJ practitioners from the Barbosa Jiu Jitsu Team. A black belt in both Jiu Jitsu and Kung Fu Alves excelled in the “Arte Suave” having achieved many important titles in the black belt division, such as Brazilian National Champion (with and without the Gi), Pan American Champion and even South American champion.

Gabriel Goulart

Gabriel Goulart is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt from the Alliance team. A close friend of Lucas Lepri, Gabriel Goulart started training due to the influence of the 2007 BJJ lightweight world champion, and his talent has shined through on many occasions having been pointed out as one of the biggest up and comers by Jiu Jitsu’s media in 2010 being rewarded with his belt by his master Fabio Gurgel still in 2010.

Diogo Sampaio “Moreno”

Diogo Sampaio Araujo, also known as Diogo “Moreno” is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt from the Soul Fighters academy in Rio de Janeiro. One of the hottest prospects to have come from the Soul Fighters Team, Diogo Araujo has conquered numerous important medals in BJJ, including a silver medal at the world championships and a Rio Open title.

Daniel Otero

Daniel Otero is an accomplished Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Fabricio Martins (6th degree black belt), having won several important trophies such as the “Brasileiro” and the World Championship. Otero has also ventured successfully into the world of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) where he competed in prestigious shows such as Max Fights and Shooto.

Raphael Chaves “Catatau”

Raphael Chaves, also known as “Catatau” is a well known Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt in the No Gi (submission wrestling) competition circuit. Originally from Brazil, Raphael Chaves focussed more on the No Gi aspect of grappling since he arrived in the USA having conquered titles in several important organizations, such as the NAGA, Arnold Classic and Copa America. Rapahel Chaves has also ventured in MMA.
